"Miss Woo has been a friendly teacher. She easily discovered my weaknesses ever since she started teaching me and helped me to tackle them.
My English has mostly improved because of her (especially composition). Highly recommended!"
- Oakley Chua, Sec 4, Anglo Chinese School Independent (2023)

"Miss Woo's lessons are fun and interesting.
She is patient to explain on points which I do not understand at the beginning.
The things that I learn are beyond what we learn in our school syllabus."

- Jovie Tan, Sec 1, Raffles Girls' School (2021)
The TWF Approach
FUN & ENGAGING LESSONS
We make serious skills super easy through a judicious mix of interaction and competition to get your child really involved!
TRIED-AND-TESTED CURRICULUM
We continue to run our programme over 2 years because it works so well! Every lesson in our 2-year cycle is unique, so students will never see the same lesson twice.
PRODUCTIVE & EFFECTIVE
All written work is done in class under time pressure, so there is virtually no homework! That takes the pressure off the students, allowing them to focus on absorbing our lessons without dreading the extra work.

SMALL GROUP CLASSES, INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION
Live classes at 8 pax, Hybrid classes capped at 10 pax, and online never over 15 pax. Short consultation slots are available for students who require more attention.

FLEXIBLE TIME SLOTS
We offer more than 1 time slot a week for every programme, and students are free to change their time slots for the week (with appropriate notice) as required.

24/7 SUPPORT
We won't be giving your child the answers to their school homework or marking it for them, but we're always available to guide them if they have any questions about what was learnt in class or any other assignment they have on hand.

NO PLACEMENT TESTS
We understand the damage placement tests can do to a child's self-esteem if admission is dependent on the performance in the test. Placement tests are sometimes used for what appears to be a commercial objective - to sift out potentially weak kids that may bring down the Centre's overall results, and to offer parents a false sense of pride if their child is accepted.

EXPERIENCED TEACHERS
Our teachers will always see the best in your child. We are not here simply to prepare them to ace their papers, but to motivate them to step out into the world as the best versions of themselves - CONFIDENT, CAPABLE, and COMPASSIONATE.

Classes
To cope with the challenges of content heavy subjects like Social Studies, History, Literature and Geography, the student has to be taught the entire spectrum of writing skills – from creative to argumentative, from reflective to persuasive. We might insert a current affairs lesson on the latest AI invention, or a do a lesson on the impact of Steve Jobs, or dissect (cultural snobs alert!) the cultural & political implications of a global phenomenon like the ‘Descendants of the Sun,’ or offer an insight on what writing strategy to use for an essay comparing different entities. You are unlikely to find the same range we offer in other centres.

Topics and skills covered:
-
Essay – from reflective/personal recount to expository types including the hybrid type;
-
with an emphasis on content that stretches beyond what the school covers
-
-
Comprehension – from literary to factual passage
-
Situational Writing – all taught with nuanced templates and updated to the latest formats tested
-
Summary – technical and vocabulary (rephrasing) skills and plenty of work on criticism ...and more!
